After pulling off the enviable feat of organizing the first Strategists Hangout for strategists and account planners in the country last year, Strategy Trybe is closing the curtains on its first ever strategy bootcamp training.

The eight weeks intensive training in strategy was specially curated to equip participants with relevant knowledge in marketing, digital, research, trendspotting, consumer insights, creativity, and client and agency relationship.

Speaking on the purpose of the training, Sherif Lanre Akinpelu, founder of Strategy Trybe, pointed out that the bootcamp aligns with the vision of the community to develop and raise the stock of strategists in the industry.

Strategy Trybe is a community for strategists and account planners based in Africa. It’s core goal is to foster the transfer of knowledge from strategy leaders in the industry to new and young strategists/planners. Since its establishment in 2018, StrategyTrybe has successfully trained over 200 strategists for free through its platform.

Boasting an array of industry leaders as facilitators, the bootcamp gave participants the opportunity to learn directly from industry heavyweights like: Nnenna Onyewuchi (Strategy Director & Co-founder of Yellow Brick Road), Ranti Atunwa (Executive Creative Director,TBWA), Idiare Atimomo (Co-founder & COO, Up in the Sky ltd), Rita Ajayi (Principal Consultant, Beyond Curios), Ntombi Malaza (Head of Brand, TBWA South Africa), Fred Akinmuyisitan (Head, Marketing Strategy & Planning, The Heineken Company), Gbemi Aleke (Deputy Strategy Director, TBWA Concept), Deola Kayode (Director, Founder Institute), Temitayo Adereti (Creative Director, Yellow Brick Road), and Sherif Lanre Akinpelu (Strategy Lead, SPV Communication Solutions).

Not to be left out of this unique opportunity to develop employees’ capabilities, top Nigerian agencies like Noah’s Ark, Imaginarium, Tequila, Chain Reactions, Nitro 121 among others enrolled members of their strategy team for the programme.

To ensure that the purpose of the training wasn’t defeated, participants, before the collection of their certificates, were tasked with putting what they’ve learnt into practice by working on a real time marketing brief which was judged by the facilitators.

Strategy Bootcamp Cohorts 2 starts on the 7th of September. More details on that later.
